本書為叔叔Vin要準備午餐時，叔叔Vin要孩子們幫忙他做菜，但孩子們只忙著玩，最後叔叔不讓他們吃飯，要先把東西整理好。本書介紹句型為(1)I'm making …<食物名>.(2)Who will help me?.(3)Not me. I'm too busy.(4)Can we have lunch now？(5)You were too busy to help me…. 發音重點：/oo/；文法重點：縮寫(I'm＝I am)。

3.Looking for Fang

本書敘述一個小男孩尋找他的兔子Fang的故事，小男孩敘述者兔子的特徵給他的朋友及家人。本書介紹句型為尋問等的問答句，發音重點：/h/；文法重點：(1)造問句、(2)縮寫、(3)造字。

4.Tadpoles and Frogs

本書敘述青蛙由蝌蚪演變而成的過程(frog lays eggs青蛙下蛋→eggs hatch蛋孵化→tadpole swims蝌蚪游泳→back legs grow長後腿→front legs grow長前腿→tail shrinks尾巴退化→frog青蛙)，句型以表示演化中的動態變化為主，書末並有一演變流程圖。本書發音重點：/fr/；文法重點：所有格(tadpole's)。

5.Going Shopping

本書敘述在各種購物的地方(如：bakery麵包店、pet store寵物店、florist花店、hardware store五金用品行、toy store玩具店、supermarket超級市場)可買到的東西。本書介紹句型為(1)I'm going shopping at the …<地點>.(2)What will I buy-…, …, …, or…？發音重點：/b/、/p/、/f/、/h/、/s/、/t/、/fl/、/tr/、/sh/。

6.Plants

本書介紹植物賴以生存所須之食物和水(water)等，書中舉例樹木(tree)、紅蘿蔔(carrot)、草(grass)、玫瑰(rose)皆為需要水及食物的植物，句型為重覆之敘述句說明植物的葉子利用陽光製造食物、植物的根由地底取得水分。本書介紹句型為(1)…<某一植物>is a plant. It needs food and water.(2)The leaves make food from sunlight.(3)The roots get water from the ground.發音重點為讓小朋友分別出一個單字有幾音節並標示出來。
